Fairfax, VA, has great schools.
Fairfax, VA, offers an excellent public school that is highly
ranked. Based on the Newsweek Report on the top public high school in the
United States, Fairfax County Schools is the top rank; in fact, Fairfax's 25
high schools are in the top 10% of the list, which means that the majority of
the high schools in Fairfax are excellent. For parents like me, having an
outstanding school in the community is very important. It will be one of my
reasons for choosing a place to live. I care for my children's education, so I
value the status of the school near the area. I'm glad that I never get
mistaken for choosing Fairfax, VA.
Best Deli in Fairfax, VA
Chutzpah Deli is
the best deli in Fairfax, VA. My favorite is the most delicious dumplings in Washington. This little dough pocket is
prevalent in Fairfax. For starters, dumplings must be stuffed; they can be steamed, boiled, or pan-fried, and it's not
baked or deep-fried. Usually, they are dipped in a sauce and then coated. But
the dumpling I
want is the ones from Fairfax, VA. Kreplach from Chutzpa Deli is
the best. You can choose whether you want it in a comfort-filled chicken noodle soup or a deep-fried one served with onions.
I like the minced beef, spices, onions, and sweet dough that
gives the noodle a sweet upgrade.
The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax, VA
The Auld Shebeen in Fairfax, VA, is a popular place to visit because it's the only
location in Fairfax that will make your environment transform to Ireland and enjoy
the Irish hospitality, the traditional Irish fare, and the well-stocked bar.
Auld Shebeen is the only authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant that offers a menu
combination of traditional Irish recipes and American cuisines. They also
provide many Traditional Irish dishes like Fish and Chips, Shepherd's Pie, and
house specialties. The signature Guinness Beef Stew is among the best sellers
in Auld Shebeen. It's the Best Irish Pub for the past years and Best Nova by
the Northern Virginia Magazine. You also have another amazing option, the Chutzpa Deli.
The story behind the Fairfax County First Public HS for Black Students
Because it's officially Black History Month, it's really nice to know the history. During the Jim Crow Era, Fairfax only had one high school for black students to attend; it's the Luther Jackson High School which opened in 1954 after many community members pushed for a school in the country. Before the opening of the school, the Black students were forced to commute to Manassas, Virginia, or D.C., and pay their tuition for their education if they wanted to continue school after 7th grade. According to the records, from 1907 to 1954, there was no public high school that Black students could attend in Fairfax. It's good to know the history and how far we have developed. Read more.
